Clinical ServicesJFK began as an interdisciplinary clinic serving children with mental retardation and related disabilities over 30 years ago. This service has continued to the present, incorporating innovations and instigating changes in the way services are delivered as needs have changed and knowledge has accrued. The affiliation between the CU School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics and The Children's Hospital (TCH) set the stage for the incorporation of the Child Development Unit at TCH into the JFK Program in 1993. Each clinical service, the Child Development Unit at TCH and the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Service, located on the Health Sciences Center campus at 17th and Colorado, operates under the auspices of their respective hospital locations. The two services together are complimentary, with each having unique areas of specialty under the overall JFK Partners mission and goals.
