Steven Rosenberg

Steven Rosenberg, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Psychiatry, University of Colorado Denver. Dr. Rosenberg is a licensed clinical psychologist who, in addition to clinical practice, has been involved for the past 25 years, in research and demonstration projects with children and families, including children with severe disabilities and children who are at risk due to environmental factors especially parenting concerns. He has served as Director and/or Evaluator on several HCEEP/EEPCD Demonstration or Outreach Projects. All of these model demonstration projects emphasized interventions to increase function and participation of children with severe disabilities. In recent years, Dr. Rosenberg has worked on outreach and demonstration projects, that train school staff in procedures that increase learners' access to activities in inclusive settings. He recently directed an OSEP funded demonstration project, Strategies for Active Inclusion, whose goal is to develop procedures for ensuring participation and inclusion by middle and high school students, who have disabilities. Dr. Rosenberg recently completed a NIDRR funded study of flexible funding as an alternative to direct contracting for early intervention services. He has also done considerable work in the area of home-visiting to families in which children are maltreated or have a developmental disability. His publications include a report of a randomized trial of home visiting services to families at-risk for both child welfare and Part C involvement (Rosenberg, Robinson & Fryer, 2002).
