Overview of the JFK
Partners Training Program As part of the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center, JFK Partners’ faculty offer knowledge and experience that guides each trainee’s learning experiences. Training experiences are composed of coursework and practicum and/or clinical placements. Coursework covers a variety of topics including leadership, consultation, and teamwork skills, essential concepts in pediatric developmental disabilities and updates on assistive technology practices. Professionals currently working with children (birth to 21) in the disciplines of medicine, psychology, social work, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology, nutrition, as well as parents of young children with disabilities are encouraged to apply. JFK Partners offers some financial support to program participants. Various state and federal grants support the specific disciplines listed above and enable us to offer graduate education credits and stipends for selected participants. Each training program has a different time commitment as well as financial support. Please refer to the Training and Fellowship Opportunities section for more information about each program.
