Health Insurance Mandated Autism Treatment (HIMAT)
Health Insurance Mandated Autism Treatment (HIMAT) mandates coverage of certain Autism treatments by certain private health insurance plans. On Sept 13, 2011 the Autism Society of Colorado and JFK Partners hosted an event for parents, providers and others to discuss the implications of the law. The event covered an overview of the law, general insurance tips and strategies, in-network credentialing, services in non-office settings and obtaining coverage/authorization.
