JFK Partners: Traineeship and Fellowship Opportunities
Web-based PDI
Web-PDI offers professional development for preschool through grade 12 special educators with internet-learning modules and consultation. Through e-based learning modules, along with telephone and e-mail discussions, project staff will help educators to: (a) Identify at least one student on whom to focus their course goals; (b) Identify the relevant barriers to academic access for that student (c) Create and implement interventions to increase participation in learning and demonstration of knowledge (d) Evaluate the interventions (e) Reflect on ways in which the process can be used for other students. Teachers receive 7 course modules, a course notebook and continuing education credits.
Major Goals:
This professional development will prepare educators to:
- Identify barriers to active student learning
- Increase student participation in learning and social activities
- Create alternative ways for students to demonstrate knowledge
- Integrate IEP goals with state standards
